The Theatre Factory was established in 2011 by Leanne Hollyhead.

Leanne ran schools and franchise centres in London and decided it was time to open her very own back in her home town. Leanne graduated from Mountview Theatre School in London with a BA Honours degree in Musical Theatre.

Leanne had a successful performing career and then decided to pursue her teaching career taking a PGCE in Education. She has a very successful teaching record with a 100% pass rate in all pupils who have entered exams over the past 11 years with 98% of those receiving high-end distinction grades. Leanne has delivered many workshops professionally in and around the UK.

Our vision for the Theatre Factory is to make it more of an all-round performing arts centre and we are expanding our private tuition to non-Theatre Factory members.

With now just over 45 pupils from Reception to Year 7 upwards, we come together each Saturday during term time:

  • 10.30am – 12.15pm: Inters
  • 12.30pm – 2.15pm: Juniors
  • 2.30pm – 4.30pm: Seniors

Each year we train pupils to perform in a fully licensed full-scale production which is staged in a local Theatre. All of our pupils are currently committed to making our productions the best they can be. We choose fun engaging musicals with plenty of parts and opportunities for everyone.

We are looking for individuals who share our love of Musical Theatre and who can comfortably sing and act in front of others. They will need to be ok with taking direction and will be guided and nurtured through their training. Confidence is built through a supportive environment so we encourage our pupils to support each other and to feel relaxed enough to be able to experiment and perform.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, class sizes are limited, therefore, currently, admission to the Theatre Factory is by informal audition/chat with the Leanne. Please email for further information.
